BuyerClearWhat it does and does not do
BuyerClear answers one question: what does the supported official source say about this buyer’s professional licence, and what evidence did staff use to decide. A registry match does not prove a document is genuine. The rest of a wholesale setup comes from Shopify itself or from an app built for it.

What it does
- Compares entered licence details with supported official-source evidence and any uploaded document
- Looks the number up in every enabled applicable official source and links to a verified authority search when automation is unavailable
- Puts the result in front of a person in your Shopify admin, who approves or declines
- On approval, creates or links a company location and confirms its access to the B2B market you chose
- Applies the Texas reseller exemption only for an approved Texas resale certificate, when enabled
- Watches expiry daily and removes BuyerClear-managed access when a credential lapses

What it refuses to do
Approve a buyer on its own. A register can confirm an exact identifier and report status, expiry and sometimes a holder name. The name is comparison evidence; it never selects a registry row. A register cannot tell you that the scan is genuine or that the sender holds the licence. Your staff decide, and the decision records who made it and when.
Inject a theme or checkout lock. BuyerClear manages company access to your chosen B2B market. You configure product availability and prices in Shopify’s catalogs. It does not inject storefront or checkout scripts. Changing B2B access can still change what a buyer can purchase; test your store’s catalogs and checkout before going live.
Running it next to what you already have
Your staff decide who gets BuyerClear-managed access. Shopify catalogs decide what those buyers can see and pay. If you link an existing company location, its existing expiry data and unrelated access stay intact. BuyerClear tracks the approved credential and removes only its own grants.
Is it for you
Yes, if you sell to licensed professionals in the United States, you check their credentials before granting access, and the exact class and issuing authority are supported or can be checked manually. Confirm coverage before a pilot. Resale documents can also be reviewed, but your shop must keep its own tax archive; BuyerClear is not a certificate-management service.
No, if your buyers are outside the United States, if what you need is wholesale pricing rather than a check on who is allowed to see it, or if you want applications approved without anyone reading them.
